Finished Conjure Wife over the weekend. The creepy holds up very well. Very, very well, in fact. The basic premise remains really solid, much of the characterization is quite good. Where it falls down is at the end where theres way to much splainy-explanation of exactly why and how this all works. Also, theres one BIG problem. The author, via the protagonist asserts thats whats different this time is 3 witches are working together, something which, says the author, has never happened before. Uh, no. Just, no. Thats wrong in terms of custom, tradition, religion, observed social practice and in literature. However, I found much to enjoy, and do not regret going back to this one.
