Finished reading Dr. Sleep last night, (the sort of sequel to The Shining) And King says this in the authors note: The Shining is one of those novels people always mention...when they talk about which of my books really scared the bejeezus out of them. Plus, of course, there was Stanley Kubrick’s movie, which many seem to remember—*for reasons I have never quite understood* - as one of the scariest films they have ever seen. - Has Stephen King never seen The Shining?! To this day, it remains the most frightening movie I have ever seen and the reason I am deeply uncomfortable in hotel hallways.
