Set your GPS for 18.843263,99.091071 and give it a try…it’s well worth the journey! Atmosphere: The atmosphere at Fiore Rosa makes you feel like you are in Italy eating in someone’s home….and in fact you are in someones home! Chef Roberto Toscano and his wife have turned half their beautiful house into a wonderful Italian restaurant in the middle of rice patties, ponds and fields in DoiSaket. Whether you choose to sit indoors in the air conditioned dining room or outside in the garden you will feel like a welcome guest in their home rather than a customer. FOOD:The food is delicious!! Roberto and crew create homestyle traditional Italian fare that is presented in a simple manner just like an Italian Mama would make. Nothing fancy here just delicious home cooking. The pasta, the pizza, the soups and the salads depend on taste rather than presentation to win your heart. Good quality ingredients and the right spices are the focus. WINES:The second best deal in town (we’ll get to the first one in a moment) is the house wine at Fiore Rosa. The very drinkable red and white wine is 80 baht for a generous glass. If you want something a bit more high class the Sommelier, yes I said Sommelier, will be happy to assist you with the wine list. Victor Couwenbergh is the house wine man and he has put together a list to compliment the menu perfectly. SERVICE: The service is attentive and informed because the person in charge of service is Dao Toscano the wife of the Chef. She is always pleasant but busy looking after both the guests and the staff. VALUE FOR MONEY:There is no competition for me. This is the best value for money I have found to date. The best deal in town mentioned earlier is the Saturday night set menu at Fiore Rosa! Every Saturday Roberto cooks his set menu consisting of 10 to 12 items changing every week for an incredible 259 baht per person!!! I had a party of 8 last Saturday with plenty of house wine and we all crawled away very full for a grand total of 2844 baht…amazing!
