Fire Destroys Summerdale House - Pets Survive huddled in corner of room. SUMMERDALE, Alabama - A fire has left a Summerdale family homeless. The fire broke out around 6pm Friday at a house on Highway 59 near County Road 28. Firefighters from three agencies responded, but were unable to save the structure. Firefighters were, however, able to save two dogs trapped inside.
