Fireblade... Is it worth it? For half the cost of a 12 man fire warrior team you can get twice the shots at 15-30. However, it also means that each firewarrior your opponent kills removes twice as much relative firepower from your group. Unless after the unit is at low strength the fireblade moves to another full unit (which is going to be very rare. Pros: Markerlight +2 LD Id venture to say that on average, considering that in a game your unit will do one of three things; a) survive the whole game b) Get destroyed first turn or c) get whittled down over time, youre likely to, on average, get an extra 24 pulse shots per game. maybe? A Markerlight is 15 points (I think?). To add a Shasui (which is basically done for LD and access to Marker is 10 points so the equivalent of the +2 LD given by the Fireblade would theoretically be 20 points? So it boils down to you paying 30 points for an extra 24 shots (On average) per game. Is it worth it?... Idk.. maybe. Now IF the fireblade came with a networked markerlight, itd be a whole other kettle of fish. One which would definitely be worth taking. Thoughts?
