Fired Up for Homecoming By Trever Czubinski on 10/02/2014 Goodwell, Okla.—It’s time to REV IT UP and to GET ROWDY for Homecoming as the OPSU Aggie football team will be hosting the NCAA Division III Sul Ross State University Lobos. The game will be on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Carl Wooten Field at 1 p.m. The Aggies are coming off two straight wins and will be planning to put on a show for their Homecoming crowd. The Aggies head into this game ranked in the top ten nationally for total offense and passing. In order to stop the OPSU pass-happy offense, the Lobos will have to rely on their talented defense ranking 53rd nationally. Defensive Coordinator Jarry Poth of the OPSU coaching staff showed his enthusiasm about playing his former team. “I’m very excited about the game Saturday. I’m excited for our kids and our school. I know I used to coach there but it’s about our team, not me. I’m a part of a great program now, and I work with some great coaches. I coach a group of really great football players that work hard every day and play with effort. That’s what it is about. It’s Homecoming and we have a great opportunity to go out and play for our home crowd and that’s always exciting to me. Get rowdy and get ready to get your 3’s up after we come off the field on 3rd down.” The Aggies will host a Pep Rally at Carl Wooten Field on Friday at 8:30 p.m. The football team, volleyball team, and cheer team will compete in fun and games as the band sets the tone. Everybody is encouraged to attend the festivities and to support their teams! On Saturday morning, the OPSU baseball team will start their fall “World Series” Red and Navy games with game one at 8:30 a.m. Also, there will be a pregame parade at 10:30 a.m. with the theme “What is an Aggie?” Following the parade will be an Alumni BBQ at 11:00 a.m. At halftime of the football game, OPSU will be recognizing Tri-County Electric Cooperative, Inc as the official game sponsor; this year’s Honored Family (the Lynne & Lillie Cramer family) will also be recognized at the half prior to the crowning of this year’s Homecoming king and queen. Aggie fans will have plenty to cheer for this weekend; WEAR RED! GET ROWDY! REV IT UP!
