First INDIAN Mountaineer couple from Gurgaon Sangeeta S Bahl Ankur Bahl spent 20 days on Denali ALaska Admist severe weather conditions, snow storms, high winds, heavy backpack loads, steep climbing, hardships, setting up tents after 8 to 10 hour days...On SUMMIT day they had another decision to make ...Unity in Adversity..Sangeeta S Bahl turned back at 19000 feet (1300 feet away from the summit) because of ill health and pushed her husband to keep going to raise the tricolor on the peak. He summit ed! On the way down she injured her right knee while twisting and slipping on the end of fixed lines at 16000 feet making it impossible for her to walk but she spent 3 hours going down limping and sliding down the 40 degree gradient at 14000 camp. Denali Park rangers rescued her and guides brought her down from 14000feet camp to base camp wrapped in sled safely over 13 hours...
