First birthday of mine in years that both of my kids have been under my roof. Had a ball waging internet stupid song war with my brother Jud Block. Got moved damn near to tears by kind and genuine words from my brother Johnny Lee, the hands down best man I have ever known or will know. Got to spend a couple hours talking to yet another brother, Jeff Hopson, waxing profound about everything from Old Testament law to New Testament grace to Bierces Civil War and all the ways Poes genius came as a result of seeing farther from his perch on Homers shoulders. As 43rd birthdays go, this ones off to a fine start. Love yall. And well and full aware what its worth to have friends of the caliber inherent in the folks mentioned above. Im humbled in the presence of greatness, and equally inspired thereby. You boys mean the world to me. Off to sleep now next to the best wife a mans ever had. My life, boys and girls, is the definition of does not suck.
