First off, Id like to say this, I worship Meryl Streep. I do, I pray to her when I close my eyes. Having said that, Id like to make comment on the her recent popular quote and meme that is circulating around Facebook. Does everyone understand that its coming from a person that is many-times a multi-millionaire and multiple Academy Award Winner? Yes, she deserves every bit of that success because shes the most talented and I believe shes worked the hardest to deserve it. But, at one time in her life, her quote regarding refusal to deal with some people (loose quote but my best, succinct way of saying it) would not have worked...at least to get her to the position shes in today. Its my experience in this life, that we simply must deal with people that stress us out, aggravate us, challenge us and can be fake to us. I would say, its not like you have to invite these people over for Thanksgiving dinner--but you know what, sometimes you do. Meryl, I adore you and I do understand the empowering theme of your message...I just think it needs a little reality check for the rest of us.
