Fish Fosh Film Review: What we did on our holidays. @russell Who knew a car ride from London to Scotland could be so damn FUNNY. David Tennant and Rosamund Pike, as an unhappily married couple, are the headline names in what is my comedy of the year, but its the kids who are the real stars. Billy Connolly plays grandpa who, thanks to illness, is about to celebrate whatll be his last birthday. Hence, mum and dad pack the kids (Emilia Jones, Bobby Smalldridge and the hilarious little Harriet Turnbull) in the car and drive up to Scotland to put on a show of family togetherness - despite separation and impending divorce. Inevitably, the children say too much in laugh-out-loud scenes, but what happens when grandpa takes them to the beach also brings some wonderful and very funny moments. I went with family and friends (one as young as eight) and we all agreed this is the best comedy we had seen in a very long time. If youve missed it at the cinema then make sure you catch it on DVD.
