Fish In The Sea By Shanise Brown Whats that old saying? Theres plenty of fish in the sea Well somebody mustve caught all the good ones Cause aint none left for me All I see is sharks swimming in shallow water looking for something to eat Another piece of flesh, must find fresh meat Despite that Ive never been afraid of the water In fact I love to swim I was underwater snorkeling one day thats how I caught him He swam right into my net So I thought that I could bring him home and make him into my pet Beautiful fish, unlike any one that I had seen But this beautiful fish was not at all what he seemed He was a piranha with a poisonous fin injecting his toxin if you got too close to him Yet I was ingnorant to the impending danger so I swam in deeper waters with the familiar stranger I immersed myself and held my breath Then finally came up for air when I had none left Only to find he had injured me and my wounds were so, so deep That fish was only good to look at and not for me to keep So I threw him back, yeah I let him go Ever since then my fishing days have been a bit slow And all the fish are too little cause the tide has been so low I tried to wade in the water for a while but my feet got stuck in the mud and when I cast my fishing line I got absolutely no love Id get a bite but when Id go to reel it in Id yank and Id pull only to find no fish on the end So now Im just sitting on the dock of the bay Hoping to catch the right fish someday
