Fishing tales from the Odd side: Once in while while searching for lures lost by other fishermen, I saw and heard things that made,me laugh long afterward. Like the time my good buddy and fishing mentor Larry Taylor scampered up this thorny Russian Olive tree to retrieve this ginormous Bagley Killer B crankbait that some body got tangled high up in the trees branches. This older guy in his 70s was sitting in his truck watching Larry climb the tree and shake it like a monkey humping a football. The old boys curiosity got the best of him and got out to ask. Excuse me there son, but what the heck are you doing up that tree? Larry nonchalantly replied. Im picking it...see, its ripe. as he came down with a brand new $8 dollar crank bait in his hand. The look on that old geezers face was priceless. He looked at Larry like he was on the other side of totally nuts...In which he may of been, but man, Taylor could sure find the treasures lost by other fishermen!
