Five Steps That Assist Us In Releasing Judgment Today when the ego knocks on your door and demands you to not only judge others, but also judge yourself for being judgmental, instead try the following: 1. Pat yourself on the back that you are consciously aware enough to notice what the ego is trying to do. 2. Offer gratitude, silently or not, to your brother or sister for being part of a process that is assisting you in remembering that you indeed always have a choice, the power of free will, to react not as you have been programmed to, but as you choose to. 3. Offer your brother the opposite of what the ego is demanding. If the ego demands judgment, offer forgiveness, if it insists on condemnation offer compassion, then silently pray for your brother’s healing, health, happiness and peace. 4. Acknowledge to yourself that this same possibility, to choose peace and forgiveness, instead of judgment, is always available. 5. Continue to remind your mind to be present/conscious, to be aware that you, not the ego past programming, have control over your mind, thoughts, words, actions, and reactions.
