Five-day Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry job fair opens today. RIYADH: MD RASOOLDEEN | ARAB NEWS STAFF Saturday 22 June 2013 Last Update 22 June 2013 12:16 am The Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) will host a job fair beginning today to assist expatriates seeking employment before the July 3 amnesty deadline. “The five day-event is organized by the RCCI in coordination with four foreign missions and leading private sector establishments in the Riyadh region,” an official from the RCCI told Arab News yesterday. The four countries participating in the fair are India, Bangladesh, Egypt and the Philippines. The spokesman said that the fair has been dubbed “Job Status Correction Fair,” providing a platform for irregular expatriates to rectify their employment status with prospective companies, which have been invited to participate. The fair will be held from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. until Wednesday at the Riyadh Convention and Exhibition Center on King Abdullah Road (near exit No.10) in Riyadh. The deputy chief of the Indian Embassy, Sibi George, said this is the last opportunity for people who want to rectify their employment status. India has been given pavilion No. 4 for its nationals to utilize the job fair. Aside from embassy consular officials, authorities from the immigration department, government labor offices and members from the RCCI will be present to ensure the smooth transfer of sponsorship to the new employers.
