Five people were arrested Thursday for their alleged involvement in a drug-trafficking ring run out of a south Modesto transmission shop, police said. The investigation, spurred on by an anonymous tip, led to the seizure of two pounds of methamphetamine, $56,000 in cash, a stolen firearm and an undisclosed amount of cocaine and marijuana, according to Heather Graves, spokeswoman for the Modesto Police Department.
