Fleet Manager – National – East Rand (R800 k - R1.1 mill per annum) Our client a leader in the market is seeking a National Fleet manager, responsibilities would include: (Transport Qualification ideal) •To provide leadership and control and manage the entire distribution and transport for inbound and outbound operation. Interface internally to planning, warehousing, customer service, GRA, stock control and accounts, Responsible to co-ordinate and control fleet. Fleet consists of Trucks and Trailers (this is the experience the client wants), ensure maximum vehicle availability and maximum reliability as well as co-ordinate specification, for replacement and maintenance of tricks and trailers. •Manage subordinates on national level. •Set Annual Budget for area of responsibility & assist Regional, Operations Managers on fleet expenditure and replacement of fleet for budget purposes. •Monitor budget vs. actual, targets on national basis and escalate any variances to top management. Ensure cost control. •Arranging service contracts for repair, maintenance, tyres and replacements of vehicles. •Authorise repairs and maintenance above regional level Scrutinises invoices, investigate inconsistencies, •Ensure minimum downtime, quick response and turnaround time at workshops, investigate cause of major brake downs and reasons for component failures and provide technical assistance when required. •Arranging and communicating emergency repair facilities and procedures. •Administrating fleet nationally, reports from the fleet system. •Proper control and administration of the fleet system, repair and maintenance, accidents, licensing of drivers and vehicles, COF’s and fines of all vehicles. (AAARTO) •Ensure regular testing of all lifting equipment according to national safety act. •Investigations and support with regards to accidents. •Arrange exchange and supply of vehicles. (Including demo’s and purchasing). •Assist with the drawing up of vehicle specs for replacements purposes. Responsible to ensure that purchase process is followed. •Maintain good communication channels with service providers and set standards for service providers in line with company specifications
