I am an 19 yr old engineering student and bought this laptop during Diwali. Have been using it ever since and have had very little to complain about it. THE GOOD - - Given its price, it is one of the few laptops to have a 4th generation core i5, 1TB hdd & 6GB RAM. - The graphics card is also substantial (I play games like Skyrim & Assassins Creed Black Flag on high quality graphics & frequently use SolidWorks.) - The screen size is just perfect, big enough to watch loads of movies (on HD) but still small enough to fit into most backpacks.Build quality is surprisingly sturdy for a plastic body. - I have had no need to contact Customer Care till now but Ive heard it is reasonably good. - Battery life is great in its range, especially because it is a 4th generation core. THE BAD - - It is surprisingly heavy, weighing over 2 kg so carrying it around all day is not the best idea. - The keyboard is not back-lit so typing in the dark is troublesome. - Charging is slow, it takes a while to full charge up if laptop is in use while charging. - MOST importantly, if you plan to play games for extended periods (4-5 hrs at a time), you must invest in a cooler as it get REALLY hot. - Sometimes after waking from sleep mode, the sound card stops working. Fixed by restarting the machine. You can compare this against a few HP laptops with similar specs. All in all, its a good pick, especially if you want a good gaming & graphics experience within a reasonable budget. Also, check for offers on stores nearby, sometimes you can get Ubuntu versions cheaper as I did & migrate to Windows later. (ONLY for people confident enough to configure the OS & drivers on their own, otherwise buy the Windows version). Also the model # is 3537 & you can only get drivers for Win8 64-bit on the Dell site. This is one of the reasons for which i m happy. On using this product i found that although there is a bleak possibility of u filling up 1 TB This is a laptop with a 1 TB memory which i don`t think would be required to everyone.. so you can also go with the 750 GB model.. The processor sometimes hangs up in the beginning which according to me is the problem with the OS. I was a bit unsatisfied with WIN 8.. would prefer WIN 7 instead of 8 The display is awesome.. in fact i would say that DELL has the best display. The back light is absent in this.. also the make sure that you download the start menu app to have your start menu back bcoz its very difficult to operate without it. The built up quality is excellent..has excellent battery life, has good graphics quality, awesome keys and doesn`t heat up like other laptops in the range. I would recommend this to everyone as dell would give you one of the best after sales service so you wouldn`t have to run to the service centers of the respective cos.. Was this review helpful? The laptop I got stopped working after a single charge and does not power on now. I have been trying to get in touch with the concerned executives, but when ever I call they say that they will call me back by the end of the day. They said my case was priority and still have not yet contacted me. Their attitude is such that they do not want to acknowledge my problem at all. I have read that there is a 30 days replacement for such cases, but they dont seem to honor it, hopefully this review does justice to me. Quick and safe. I had issues regarding payment problems but their executives cleared them off very effectively. Speaking about the laptop, its absolutely amazing. Fast and easy to use. PROS: Doesnt heat after gaming. Starts quickly and shuts down quickly as well. 1TB HDD is more than enough. The graphic card is bomb. Runs almost all the games. CONS: Bit heavy.
