Florida Against Smart Meters HEALTH CONCERNS Smart Meters operate wirelessly by pulsing radio frequencies every few seconds, 24-hours per day. They cannot be turned off. This RF is the type of radiation produced by cell phones and microwaves. The utility providers openly admit that this is the same technology, but at a much lower level. However, they omit that you will not only be affected by the device operating at your house, but you will be within range of all of your neighbors Smart Meters. The more neighbors you have increases your exposure to the device radiation. Across the country people are experiencing heath problems from Smart Meters. Many people have sensitivity to electronic radiation and will suffer ringing in the ears (tinnitus), sleep disruption, headaches, nausea, heart palpitations, skin cancers and fatigue. There are numerous studies that link cancer to exposure of RF radiation. Not to mention that these devices can interfere with pace makers and other medical equipment inside of the home. Most people are aware of the health risks posed by cell phones and microwaves and these devices are not generally run 24-hours per day. As a consumer you have the right to not use these devices, however you do not have the option with Smart Meters. Tests have been performed to prove that Smart Meter radiation is penetrating the exterior walls and can be found at constant and persistent levels within the interior of the home. This does not include the relays that communicate to these meters that put out even higher! As one doctor said at the Brevard County Commission meeting, if a cellphone is a candle, these smart meters are a forest fire. Now imagine 390,000 of these in Brevard alone bursting out RF. I know this is hard for some of the sheeple to believe, but yes FPL is lying to you! Reply Replies AnonymousNovember 22, 2012 at 9:56 AM Call FPL and tell them you want them to take the meter off your home. At your request they will replace it. The meter may be either digital of analog faced, probably having MMR technology. Id ask how the data is being collected. Take notes, get persons name telling you this and ask for it in writing. This is a minimally invasive method where they can remotely read the data packets from a handheld device. This I cant say for certain because I have yet to see one of their change out units be deconstructed. This may give you the relief you seek but does not guarantee all the privacy issues including selling of data and hackablility. I can only guess that is the last thing on your mind. All the best! Placed our account on a hold list to insure no smart meter would be installed, and would inform us of Florida Commission decisions about how to handle the installations of these meters. Also advised her I am a Parkinsons patient, and as such am ultra-sensitive to RF energy from computers, TVs, etc., and that exposure to smart meter radiation would probably be severely detrimental for me. FP&L maybe using this type of analog meter when a complaint comes in to replace the digital meter. Any analog meter accepted from the utility should be subjected to independent testing and analysis, and deconstruction. At first I was very perplexed as to why these systems seem to come out of no where. Then I became very concerned that maybe I was sufferring from some kind of dreaded diease or something. While surfing the Internet I ran accross a Site that was talking about the dangers of Smart Meters I clicked on it and as I began to see all the information that was being provided I noticed a section on the Health issues regarding Smart Meters. Thats when I realized where these mysertious systems I was suffering from were actually coming from. It was not from some dreaded diease as I thought, it was coming from the New Smart Meter that had been installed on my Home. My question is what can I do about it and can I sue the Electric Company for endangering my Health and the Health of my Family? I have been having problems lately, higher blood pressure, sore finger tips, trouble sleeping, nervous condition and skin rash. I dont think there is anything that FPL will do for me because when I sent them an email their reply was to tell me how safe the meters were. They said 375 years next to a smart meter was the same as one minute of cell phone use. I would like to move but dont have the money to do so. Then we fought with FPL over it, and they sent a guy to our house to collect 200.00 or he would cut us off, so we had to pay it. Then the next month we payed an extra 75.00. All in all over 275.00.
