Floyd Money Mayweather Vs. Marcos Maidana The September 13th Welterweight Championships at MGM Grand was taken by Money Mayweather; leaving him undefeated once again with a record of 47-0 in an 18 year pro career. This fight was Floyd and Maidanas second fight in four months and the word anticipation does not begin to describe how anxious fans were to witness this event. There were 16,144 people in attendance. Now it has been said by fans that Mayweather fought a less engaging fight last night but nevertheless, it was a unanimous decision that Floyd was more victorious in this battle. The score was 115-112 or seven rounds to four. All of this is even with Maidana allegedly biting Floyd. Maidana stated He was rubbing my eyes with his gloves. Maybe he had his gloves in my mouth, but I dont think I bit him. Floyd was his own worst critic after last nights fight. I give myself a C-minus, he said. All of this is contrary to the hugh difference in performance between the two. Floyd connected 58 percent of his power punches, 108 of 177, compared to Maidanas 26 percent, 87 of 335. Referee Kenny Bayless called time in round 8 when Floyd suddenly jerked his left hand out of a clinch. It is pretty evident and well defined that comes what May, Floyd will right hook any obstacles that he faces. Floyd took this fight fair and square despite folks saying that the referees were bought out but in the game of boxing, everything is calculated and based on coordination. It isnt about how many punches are thrown but more so how they are connected and how accurately they are landed. The numbers dont lie. Speaking of numbers, Floyd generated a cool $888,889 per minute which is equivalent to $32 million dollars for last nights fight.
