Flu is continuing to surge across the nation, with the H1N1 strain hitting children, pregnant women and young people particularly hard. More than 20 have died in Georgia from flu so far this season. This season’s flu vaccine contains protection against H1N1. The CDC recommends everyone 6 months old and older get vaccinated – including pregnant women. Others at risk of complications of seasonal influenza include people with asthma; diabetes; history of heart disease, stroke or cancer; HIV/AIDS; and those who are obese.
