Flying The Flag For Pride. Unison LGBT officers PCSO Lee Hare and Kate Jackson-Collier are excited to announce that this year we will again be joining in the festivities at the Swindon & Wiltshire PRIDE parade in Old Town on the 09th August 2014. The struggle for equality for LGBT members has been a long one. Thankfully the UK has come a long way but for some people at home and in other countries the struggle for acceptance continues. Wiltshire Police, Unison and The Police Federation are working closely together this year to show our full support for equality. All three organisations support a zero tolerance approach to any form of discrimination and are happy to publicly show this. Not only will we be attending the parade in a shower of rainbow colours but we will also be flying a flag for Pride. With the Chief Constables blessing and full support a rainbow flag adorned with the Wiltshire Police crest will be proudly flying high over our Police Headquarters in Devizes and Gablecross Police Station in Swindon. The parade starts at Westlecot Road in Old Town at 11:15am before the main PRIDE event begins in the Town Gardens at 12:00pm We hope you will support this event which represents Equality For All and look forward to seeing you all there.
