Focus on what’s most important. “And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?” Luke 2:49 With everything happening in your life, focus on what’s most important. Why are you here? What are your gifts and calling? What is the overall mission? The enemy will try to cause you to focus on everything but what God wants you to give your attention to. He specializes in taking that one situation, that one negative comment spoken, or that one weak area in your life and turning it into a huge problem that diverts your attention away from God. Distractions also come in the form of “good” things too. Calling your relative is a good thing, but staying on the phone all day, is not. Distractions are subtle and are carefully designed to get you off course. Before you know it, you’re too preoccupied to spend time with God. You have the mind of Christ, which means you also have the focus of Christ. Jesus wasn’t able to complete His mission without focus. Neither will you. Focus on God’s plan for your life and those things He has placed on your heart to do for others. Experience the reward of pressing in to seek Him diligently so that you can know what His will is for your life and receive His grace to get it done. Prayer: Father God, I receive the mind and the focus of Christ. I receive Your grace to do what You have given me to do today. Help me not waste time focusing on things I have no business focusing on. Propel me forward. Help me God. Increase my strength and give me wisdom so I won’t be distracted from being about Your business. In Jesus name, Amen.
