Focusing on aqeedah wont help us deal with the issues facing us in the west Asking where is Allah is not relevant to our situation today The issues surrounding the names and attributes of Allah are merely theologically and theoretical The shuyookh only know how to deal with arguments made by the Quraysh but they cant tackle evolution or atheism Such statements can only come from an ignoramus. Yet we find that some of the most famous duaat are coming out with similar things. This is what was being spurted years ago by deviants such as hamza yusuf when he said aqeedah is a disease or akram nadwi who said the companions didnt have aqeedah - all praise is to Allâh who has made the situation even clearer for those who want to be guided. Now these celebrity shakes are saying the same thing. Brothers and sisters; the messenger (salallaahu alayhi wa sallam) spent the first 13 years of his mission calling people to tawheed, nurturing them upon the correct aqeedah. When their hearts were attached to Allâh, the ayaat of legislation were sent down. The point? Today we are in dire need of coming to the correct aqeedah. We can sit here and refute every single theory but tomorrow there will be a new one that needs refuting. Imagine a building that is extremely beautiful but built upon weak foundations; eventually it will collapse. This is the example of the person who is not grounded in aqeedah but possesses knowledge on how to counter all the different theories - eventually the doubts will build up and his weak foundations will collapse. I have seen this happen with my own eyes on many occasions. The prophetic method of giving dawah is the only way to reform our society. Calling people to tawheed is the primary objective and of course this involves refuting deviants such as the asharis and mutazilah because what knowledge is more important than knowledge of Allâh? Such knowledge is not merely theological or theoretical because it forms the very foundation of our creed. By Allâh, if you took a person who is grounded in aqeedah yet ignorant of these theories and subjected him to even the most gruelling arguments from orientalists and atheists, his foundations would keep him firm inshaAllah. Put a person who doesnt know about the sound aqeedah but is well-versed in theories into the same situation and he will be like a leaf in the wind - blowing this way and that because he has no foundations. Herein lies the problem; a collection of practising people who dont know or understand the correct creed and therefore they have no gheera over it; so they listen to any man who talks - sometimes listening to a sufi, deobandi or someone else who is completely lost. Their aqeedah shakes this way and that so when they take their biology or physics lessons they cannot withstand the winds of doubt and attacks of shaytaan. Rectification doesnt lie in learning about the latest theory being spewed by the shayateen, it lies in having the correct aqeedah and then following that up with righteous action. So mr qadhi / hamza yusuf / n.a.khan / the rest of the celebrity shakes - you follow your new methodology and let us try to tread the path of the salaf. Thanks!
