Folks ... as I travel through my understanding of Jesus speaking of two groups: the sheep and the goats ... please understand that I am a Universal Restorationist in and through Jesus. Have patience as I go through these recent posts and you will see that I believe that all groups end up together in Jesus. I dont believe in us and them - we are all one in Jesus. By the way ... when i get to the final post you will see that maybe this parable is just that: a parable and not to be taken literally in all points. I will show that Jesus was talking heart to heart to the 12 about the perils they will face at the hands of the nations ... and that he identifies with them and that the way the nations treat his 12 is taken to heart by Jesus. I believe that THE purpose of this parable is to encourage his disciples to not lose heart ... he will be with them in their suffering and nakedness and imprisonment. I am led to believe that the purpose of this story is NOT to provide us with an EXHAUSTIVE doctrinal teaching on the nature of the judgment ... Jesus is simply telling the 12 a story to enourage them and to push through and that he is with them as they face the nations. So now you know where I am heading ...
