Folks this SCAM has been making the rounds on FB. The perp will clone your timeline, steal your cover and profile photos, and your about information to make the Timelime appear to be you. S/He then sends Messages to some of your Friends in an attempt to SCAM them into revealing their personal information so as to steal their Identity. Ive been checking my account regularly ever since I discovered three of my Friends had been cloned. This time Rick found the clone of my Timeline first. Thanks Rick Genereaux for letting me know. Here is what you can do to watch your FB account and then report the imposters timeline to have it removed. 1) Youve been told by one of your friends that your account has been cloned or you can type your FB account name or, the name of a friend in the Search Bar at the top of the page to check manually. If you see an account that looks like yours, youve been cloned. Likewise, if you see two like accounts of your friend, they have been cloned. 2) If you receive a Message from one of your friends that asks you if youve been contacted about some fantastic offer - monetary help/assistance/grants from some agency and FACEBOOK; in imperfect/broken English; and it just doesnt feel like it came from your friend, then it may be the SCAM. Click on the Friends name in the title bar of the Message. Does that timeline appear to be correct for your friend? If the FB account created on date is recent or more recent than your friends their account may have been cloned. 3) Click on the Cloned timeline then locate the gear icon either at the top of the page or in the Messages link. Click on the gear icon then click on Report/Block follow the FB links to report the impersonated account. Remember: THIS MUST BE DONE FROM THE TIMELINE OF THE CLONED ACCOUNT. Unlike ·
