If you want to get a book that really encapsulates what I truly think it means to be a follower of Christ, you need this book. 2. A Fire You Cant Put Out: The Civil Rights Life of Birminghams Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth. A biography of my absolute favorite civil rights leader. 3. The Fountainhead, by Ayn Rand. I always find myself coming back to read this book. 4. Executive Orders, by Tom Clancy. I love Tom Clancy, and this one if my favorite of his books. 5. Complete Poems and Major Prose of John Milton. The absolute best Milton anthology. 6. Theres a Boy in the Girls Bathroom, by Louis Sachar. My favorite book as a child. 7. Stuart Little, by E.B. White. My second favorite book as a child. 8. Traveling Mercies, by Anne Lamott. A book that always challenges my view of others and of Gods love. 9. Jesus for President, by Shane Claiborne. A Biblical examination of topics such as government, politics, and empire. 10. America in the King Years (the trilogy), by Taylor Branch. The most comprehensive history of the civil rights movement there is.
