Food Network, Hells Kitchen & such (chopped is honest in itself - TopicsExpress

Food Network, Hells Kitchen & such (chopped is honest in itself that it is a cooking challenge) are the worse things to happen to the culinary world. As a chef, you plan menus, plan parties, do costs evaluation, labor reports, inventories of food, disposables, small wares & chemicals, order everything (yes, toilet paper & triple sec even, one I need much more than the other), check in deliveries, write checks, work on the line when needed, come up with specials utilizing product & customers tastes...and thats usually my first 3,4 hours on Monday. 16, 18 hour days are not only expected but necessary. Ive stayed at work til 2 am & reported to work at 2am. Work holidays, weekends, birthdays...so the answer is no. I didnt watch Top Chef last night. If I wanted to see some fake, washed up pu**ies Id look at my old Playboy with Chyna in it.
