We have been running the volunteer led 24/7 food bank as part of TFIN emergency servicess for over 2 Years alongside the clothing, baby start up essential items, toys, book, home ware and furnishings when we first began running in July 2012 with the support services also always a huge feature all done non funded with the donations from the people of Thanet helping over 3500 cases to date. The demand has shoot through the roof this winter with not just those on benefits but those in employment really suffering also with little support out there through the government anymore. We have been running a postcode statistic of where needs seem to be greater in Thanet from our clientele list over the past year with results clearly showing most of our cases being referred from Cliftonville and Margate areas. We also run a fortnightly soup kitchen at The eclectic Palace with transportation to and from pick up points in each corner of Thanet. We have been featured on tv reports on BBC and ITV over the last 2 years and many a radio interview with local radio and BBC Radio Kent covering various topics.
