Food for thought? Many people received tickets at the gauntlet south of St Norbert when they were collecting a windfall there due to improper signage. The signs from the south are on each side of the road, while the sign on the north end of this corridor had one small sign on a street light substantially off the roadway. It was also blocked partly by street lights on the bridge. With all the publicity on this due to Wise Up trying to shame them in to putting proper signage it seems they finally installed a sign. . I find it hard to believe that engineers who drew up this highway rebuild would stipulate signage on the south end of a sign on each side of the road at a certain distance off the traveled portion, yet their drawing would not have the same design on the north end with signs on each side of the road. No engineer would ever put non standard signage on his drawing. Someone altered this sign. Highway drawings are legal documents approved by engineers and stamped and agreed to at many levels including the province and the city.. I would suggest that any alteration to pertinent details on this approved drawing without proper consent is not within the law. The same goes for any area in the city where speed signs are removed that were shown on an approved and stamped drawing. Just my opinion.
