Food for thought: incoming religious world view The base fact of Christianity is that God is all powerful and all knowing. Period. My issue with this statement is as follows. If GOD is all powerful and capable of all things, then why did it take the torture and murder of his ONLY son to forgive us of adam and eves sin (nothing we did directly). Why must it take the death and torture of his son, for the all powerful to forgive our sins. Him being in the position he is and all could accept any atonement as he saw fit for their sin. What he saw fit was murder and torture of his son. Coming from a fathers point of view, that is the most abominable act he could have chosen, just to forgive their sin. After all he is all powerful..... why not accept an apology.....
