Food shaming and diets: Why do people food shame each other? Who says you cant have that snickers bar, ice cream or cheeseburger?? As we sat in the airport last Thursday at 6:30 in the morning, eating a ham, egg white and cheese croissant by the way, a lady looks over at me and says she hates being on a diet while flying. Im like why???? First off, diet is your main problem then the lady next to her butted in and told her that gluten is bad.... Palm slap to the face! Of course I dont and wont let that go so I butted back in and said that I eat gluten all the time and this is what I do for a living so stop labeling foods!! I see what Im eating as a protein, fat and carb and nothing else. When people diet they start taking out foods they like and this in the end leads to not so great results and by this I mean you go on a binging spree when it does come time for a free or cheat meal, however you want to call it. Here is an example of what my clients get as their 6th meal snack which is usually around the time they go to bed: peanut butter and graham crackers and not the reduced fat either, most reduced fat products are worse for you because they take out the good fats and replace them with junk and in return causes the carb content to go up. Others get a reduced fat milk, fruit or popcorn. Your body doesnt know what time it is when you eat your last meal so there isnt a magical cut off time to eat!!!!! Losing weight isnt and shouldnt be a quick process. Majority of the time when it comes off to quick, odds are youll put it right back on. Also, stop taking pics of friends or families that do decide to eat off plan and post them online!! This is one thing that burns my butt!! That is called food shaming and will eventually lead to problems!! Let the ones that are certified in this kind of field deal with nutrition!!
