We also welcome on board Giant Bicycles Australia as our bike sponsor, as well as welcoming back Raylinc Lighting and the Tasmanian Institute of Sport, now as our naming rights sponsor. A big thank you to all our sponsors and the team looks forward to a great partnership in 2015 and beyond. Also thank you to Geard Cycles for their help in setting the team up on their new Giant TCR Advanced SL 1s See below the official media release: MEDIA RELEASE | 16 Dec 2014 TIS Racing Team and Giant Bicycle Co announce new NRS Partnership The world’s largest bicycle manufacturer, Giant Bicycle Co, has signed on as a major sponsor of the Tasmanian Institute of Sport (TIS) Racing Team. The TIS racing team is an important part of the development pathway for elite cyclists in Tasmania; providing an opportunity for scholarship holders and established athletes to represent the state in the National Road Series. Commenting on the partnership, Giant Bicycle Co Brand Manager, Alistair Wilson, paid tribute to a state with such a rich history of cycling success. “The future has never looked brighter for the sport in Tasmania. In 2014 Tasmanian road cyclists have brought home six world-champion rainbow jerseys. The TIS has ensured the appropriate structures, pathways and leadership to propel the sport forwards and we are delighted to be part of that journey”. There is a natural synergy between the TIS Racing Team and Giant Bicycle Co. High performance at the highest levels of racing is the goal of both parties, and with an alumni cohort including Richie Porte, Matt Goss, Wes Sulzberger, Lauren Perry, Georgia Baker and Amy Cure, the team is well-placed to deliver returns for Giant Bicycle Co. According to CEO and Team Manager, Tony Halfhide, Giant Bicycle Co is the perfect partner for the TIS Racing Team. “In the National Road Series and all training aspects, TIS Racing Team athletes will be riding the Giant TCR Advanced SL. The bike is revered by professional cyclists around the world as the lightest, stiffest, best-riding road bike in its class. We are proud to be associated with Giant Bicycle Co and look forward to showcasing Giant technology and excellence in our home market, nationally and abroad.” The men’s racing division of the 2015 National Road Series launches in March with the Woodside Tour de Perth, WA.
