For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. --1 Cor. 4:4-5; Gal. 6:4-8 There is a tendency to always see the error in another while overlooking the same sin in our own lives. For how we live our daily lives says much about what we really believe concerning Jesus Christ. Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? (2 Cor. 13:5). Is attending Church just an exercize in showing off what we want others to see or hear? Do we really believe what we claim? What would strangers say of our witness for Jesus Christ? The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; (Mat. 13:38). Some I fear think they can fool God as they fool other men. This is not possible as we are all held accountible for our actions in how we treat others. Can we say that we love God and lie to another human being? It is impossible to love someone and lie to them at the same time. To be honest says that you care about that person as one created in the image of God. True love is all about giving: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16). The oppisite is the object of deception which is all about taking something from another individual. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10). All those who lie and steal resemble the Devil: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44). The opposite are those who love God and tell the Truth. For Jesus said: I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6). This day my prayer is that all would turn from deception and confess theirs sins for: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9). For all those who refuse their end is death: But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. (Rev. 21:8). - Arnie Silva
