About Timeless Traditions, The Etiquette of Ageless Style Thurstie Sherman had a dream to own a bridal boutique and assist brides (and grooms) with all of their wedding day needs. She has attended markets and seminars since opening March 30, 2007. She started this business with a dream and a $30,000 loan. Thurstie and her husband Chet have been dedicated to growing this business over the years. Both have attended markets and have made some very important business relationships, even meeting the renowned David Tutera. Thurstie and Chet have both made it important to meet with and speak directly with either the owners of vendor companies or their immediate management. “Owning a business is not easy but it is most rewarding. I love what I do!” “You would never believe what details go into selecting the merchandise to showcase in your boutique. Thankfully, I have had the assistance from vendor owners and Sales Managers to guide me in selecting the best gowns for my region.” Thurstie also plays an important role in designing and executing several bridal shows in the area. She has exclusive rights to the fashion show for the Mount Herman Bridal Show and she is the Event Executive for the Cloverdale Bridal Expo and the Cherith Hall Bridal Show. Thurstie and her husband have had to overcome many challenges owning and running this business. In early 2011, she fell and broke her ankle and then received a diagnosis of breast cancer. She completed 18 months of chemotherapy and one month of radiation. She also received a diagnosis of MS and then in February of 2013, she lost her father. She has pushed through all of this and is still here today. “I don’t know how I could have gotten through all of this without my husband, my family and my business Timeless Traditions.” “I want to thank everyone that has supported me over the years and I look forward to many more years serving the area. I love helping make wedding day dreams come true!” Chase is now offering a grant, Mission Main Street Grant, that can really help me continue to serve the area. This grant will allow me to increase my inventory, have a greater marketing program and increase the workforce in Halifax County. Thank you for supporting me all these years and please take a few moments to go to MissionMainStreetGrants and vote for Timeless Traditions in South Boston, VA 24592.
