For Immediate Release: Thursday, August 01, 2013 Nanaimo BC: The Nanaimo Clippers are pleased to announce today two additions to Coaching Staff. Dave Johnston will take the position of Assistant Coach/Assistant GM and Director of Business Operations. Dave most recently was an integral part of the Crescent Point Energy Western Canada Cup in the position of Director of Corporate sales. Coaching History As Head Coach/GM of the Oceanside Generals of the VIJHL Dave was very successful moving players to the BCHL, Kyle Kramer, Taylor Grobowski, and Brent Baltus to name a few. During his tenure the Generals won two League Championships a Provincial Bronze Medal and hosted the very successful 2010 Cyclone Taylor Cup, Provincial Championship. Playing History Dave played for the New Westminster Bruins of the WHL and the Burnaby Bluehawks of the BCHL Personal Originally from Williams Lake BC, Dave now lives in Nanaimo with his Fiancé Jen and is the proud father if Brittlyn 23, a Commercial Pilot & Flight Instructor here in Nanaimo and Brock 16 a student at Woodlands Secondary. Brad Leeb will take the roll of Assistant Coach & Business Consultant. Brad most recently played for the Coventry Blaze in the UK EIHL. While in Coventry he obtained his Sports Management Degree at Coventry University. Playing History 1994-1999 Played for the Red Deer Rebels in WHL 1999 Played for Team Canada in World Junior Hockey Championships 1999-2007 Played in the IHL, AHL, and 6 games in the National Hockey League with both the Vancouver Canucks and the Toronto Maple Leafs. 2007-2013 Played in the DEL in Germany and finished his 14 year Professional Hockey playing last season with the Coventry Blaze in the UK EIHL. While in Coventry he obtained his Sports Management Degree at Coventry University. Personal Originally from Red Deer Alberta Brad currently lives in Nanoose Bay with his wife Emily and their new baby.
