Not Only Men (Domestic Violence Law does not spare women) When we bring up the issue of Domestic Violence, it is always about men. But now this myth is broken and even women can be included under the Domestic Violence Act 2005. The Madras High Court Bench has held that complaints under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act 2005 need not be made only against men since the legislation does not insulate women from being accused of offences mentioned under it. The issue of booking women under the Domestic Violence Act came up for consideration in 2008, so it is not totally a new issued raised but an old issue voiced up recently.
