For all of you Obama lovers, his vision of life in America is a reality in Venezuela. I read in the Nicaraguan daily newspaper, LA Prensa, and everyday there is an article about Venezuelas economy. Yes Chavez is dead but his stooge, President Nicolas Maduro is as inept as every socialist leader is when it comes to economics. Central planning does not work, I do not care who tries it. They have runaway inflation along with massive food, medicine and even toilet paper shortages. Now to win the local mayoral and council type elections coming soon Chavezs stooge, Presidente Nicolas Maduro has nationalized electronic and appliance stores, forcing them to sell their merchandise at up to 70% discounts!!!! His party cannot afford to lose these elections to the opposition (freedom type parties) in the major cities or they may well lose control over the country. (More like the vast oil wealth going into the 1%ers pockets, ie Maduros and his government cronys pockets). Chavez nationalized most everything, banks, oil, farms, news media, (especially the ones that didnt like him), etc. Now Venezuelan people have flocked to these stores for the almost free giveaway prices of high end items. Who do you think they will vote for now? The runaway inflation and shortages are due to the same progressive/liberal/socialist policies that our current administration in the US espouse as the way to a better life for all....If you want to see real poverty visit Venezuela and see what has happened to a once free, prosperous and democratic country and then look at what the current administration and his party offer. Visit the soup kitchens, the government subsidized grocery stores that dont have enough food for everyone standing in line waiting for their share of the wealth. I have seen it myself. I challenge you to do the same. You have to search long and hard in US media to find this information because the Main Stream Media is in bed with this progressive ideology and this administration, but it is there if you care enough about the USA to find it and learn for yourselves instead being spoon fed the lies.
