For all of you mothers of small children: god bless you! It has been some years since I have cared for multiple small children (for a length of time)... and although I didnt really forget childrens zest for life and relentless energy, I may have unconsciously buried those type of memories (a special gift mothers of many children acquire as a coping skill). However, this weekend Mason and Willow graciously helped me revive such memories. As I sit here looking around my house, where the barstools are on the counters, the dishes are stacked on the sink, the washer and dryer are both running non-stop, there are rubber bands around the cabinet pulls, the phones - remotes - etc are in window sills, the dog food and water are on the counter, toys cover the floors, pack n plays hide stairs, and an inflatable air mattress houses baby blankets and dinosaurs in the living room, it all comes flooding back... I dont even know what I am wearing, I havent showered and I probably wont get much sleep tonight. Yet tomorrow will be bittersweet as my house will return to its post children state of tidiness and quietness; however my sweet babies will leave the slumber party to go home and they will take their amazing hugs, kisses and smiles home. ♡♡
