For all of you who know/KNOW me, you know that I rarely use this forum to rant, but...earlier this evening I saw that an incredibly talented (primarily original) artist was to be playing (full band) approximately 2 miles from my home in NE Tarrant - a rarity, as most venues round here typically have cover artists. We walked into OSheas in Colleyville (tag to follow) shortly after 9:00. Crowd was light, but the band (as expected) sounded great. Then, after hearing exactly two songs, a (presumably) OSheas manager walks to the stage - mid-set mind you - and tells the band theyre done. Fing done. Not even the miniscule amount of respect to allow the band to finish their set. I later found out that the reason given to the band was that they were too loud - utter bullshit, as I was able to easily carry on conversation with my lovely companion. To their credit, the band handled things with an amazing amount of grace, but I can say, without hesitation, that Ive never seen a band/performer/artist treated with less respect and in an more humiliating manner than what I witnessed, first-hand, tonight.
