For any Brits hoping to benefit from the 1 year free extensions of British citizen passports here in Brussels, well I tried and failed to get an appointment today, my passport runs out in a few weeks and I have to leave the country 3 times in those weeks, making a passport renewal tricky and I was really pleased when they announced free 1 year extensions. I was turned down :-( and I tried so hard, the Malaga call centre I suspect has been told to try and persuade as many people as possible to pay in the normal way, as I was told several times to travel to the UK to do it! Ah well, it was a good idea, Ill do as told, phone again in a week, as they are releasing only appointments to people at the moment with passports running out by end August and mine has a little longer to run. I am getting rather nervous though, the last thing I want is the expense of buying an ETD because I cannot get a passport renewed.
