For any Colorado friends/family, this is what we will be having this obituary run in the Greeley paper and we will be posting a second one for Ohio in the coming week. Judith(Judy) E. Staaf-Martin Taylor Dec. 22, 1941-July 5th, 2013 Age: 71 Residence: Greeley Judith Staaf-Martin Taylor passed away on July 5th, 2013 at her home in Greeley, CO surrounded by her family, following a brief bout with Cancer. She was born Dec.22, 1941, to Wilbur E. Staaf and Julia (White) Staaf in Youngstown, Ohio. She married Daniel (Dan) R. Taylor of New Waterford, Ohio on July 19, 1963. Dan’s employment brought them to Colorado in 1966 where they began their family. They returned to Ohio in 1973 where she raised her children, cared for her parents, and furthered her career in nursing. She and Dan then moved back to Greeley in 2006 to enjoy the mountains, which was one of her favorite places. She was a graduate of the Youngstown Ohio Hospital Association School of Nursing. She retired from nursing in July of 2011 after 48 years of nursing. Her most recent employment was with the Rehabilitation & Visiting Nurses Association, here in Greeley. She had many experiences in the nursing field and was the Executive Director/Clinic Administrator for the Community Action Agency of Columbiana County, Ohio’s 2 Federally Qualified Medical Centers & the County’s Federally funded Dental Center for 19 years. She was instrumental in the founding of these Centers and received state wide recognition from the Ohio Department of Health/Bureau of Oral Health Services in 1996, for improving Children’s Oral Health. In 2002, she received the Distinguished Rural Health Administrator of the Year award from the Ohio Department of Health. She was active on many of Ohio’s health task forces, a member and past officer of the Ohio Primary Care Assoc., a member of the “Under the Red Hat”, Salem Chapter and an active member of the Assistance League of Greeley. She was preceded in death by her mother & father, her stepfather James F. Martin, her brother Ronald (Ron) D. Martin and a nephew Ronald D. Martin Jr. She is survived by her husband Dan, a son Kerig M. Taylor of Cleveland, Ohio, a daughter Megan E. Taylor of Boardman, Ohio, two sisters, Mrs. Clay (Joan) Calvert of Leawood, Kansas, Mrs. Janet Rosenfeld of Greensboro, North Carolina, two brothers, Wilbur E. (Butch) Staaf of Rockford, Illinois, James (Jimmy) Martin, two sister-in-laws Mrs. Ronald (Joyce) Martin of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Mrs. Dorothy Staaf of Youngstown, Ohio and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to the Assistance League of Greeley: 1706 9th Street, Greeley, CO 80631-3134 A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday July 14th from 2-4pm at the Triple S Event Center, 901 35th Ave. Greeley, CO.
