For any kids looking to get their license before 18 in Ohio...here is what I have learned this week. You have to get your temps at 15 1/2 in order to get your license on your 16th birthday. Here is the process... 1. You go in a take a 40 question written test. It is free, enjoy that, everything else will cost you. 2. Once they pass test you go get their temp license. It is $22 and it is good for up to a year. There are a host of driving restrictions so be sure and read up on it. 3. The driver is required to spend 50 hours behind the wheel with a parent or guardian. You have sign an affidavit stating you completed this. 4. Driver must attend driving school that costs $320 (at Wallys). In driving school you must go to three weeks of classes, Monday-Thursday from 6-8pm to finish 24 hours of in class time. And then they have to do five driving sessions with an instructor, each lasting 1 1/2 hours. 5. Now that you have completed all that you can take your driver to the BMV and let them take their driving exam. If they pass you pay 20 something dollars and BOOM! you have a licensed driver. 6. Now call your insurance company just so you can make the decision to not ever let them drive! Ahahahahhaha.
