For anyone interested in a glimpse of how I edit, here is a preview of the adjustment layers used on my images. Each adjustment layer allows me to make adjustments to the image on a separate layer as not to cause damage to the original image (background layers). The background copy layer is used for blemish removal. I use the Healing Brush Tool to remove blemishes, with the hardness set to 75% and spacing set to 25%. This is also done on a duplicate of the background layer as not to cause any damage to the original image. The New Layer dialogue box represents the settings for the layers titled Contour, Eyes and Hands/feet. These are the layers that I dodge and burn on, as to avoid causing any damage to the original image on the layer beneath it. You will want to experiment with each separate adjustment layer in order to see what you can do with it as well as to develop your own personal style.
