For children born in 2010, the application period for kindergarten runs through February 13. Placement offers will be distributed in early April and pre-registration at schools starts in April. Like last year, families can apply online by visiting nyc.gov/schools/kindergarten, over-the-phone by calling (718)935-2400 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday or in person at one of the Family Welcome Centers schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/NewStudents/WelcomeCenters/default.htm This year the kindergarten application is translated into nine languages on-line, and the Family Welcome Centers will have translated paper copies of the applications as well.
