For everyone that works in retail, I had a man around 68 come in and wanted 300 put on a moneypak card, trying not to be nosy asked if his computer locked up, he said yes,I asked if it said You owe money to Govt and until you pay this your computer will stay locked, he said yes. I then explained that this is scam and once he scratches and gives the # to that person he will be out 300 dollars. He still wanted the card. I said please do me a favor and call Best Buy and they will explain that it is a scam and let you know what to do to unlock your computer. He came in at noon and said I was right that it was a scam and his computer is at Best Buy getting fixed, he was upset at me because Best Buy was charging him 200 to fix ,put a virus protection and a warranty to call if it happens again. He had already scratched the back of the card, but did not give the guy a call. He wanted a refund on the card, once that leaves the store we can not refund that money, I did call and they told him to go home call from a land line and they would refund the money. This is the 3rd. time in past month this has happened to me, spoke to police and we can warn them and call the police so they can warn them. One lady they got 2,000 from. I never got a thank you for saving him 300. I am fine with that. But please if anyone runs into this try to talk them out of it. Maybe they need to watch what they are clicking on. Buyer Beware during this Holiday Season. Also tell your elderly friends. Best Buy said they had over 300 computers in there last week for the same thing. Thanks for taking time to read and please do share.
