For friends, family and supporters, Thank you for your continued support. We are still in a state of emergency here at Pine Ridge. The Lakota people of Pine Ridge still has not received the help they had been promised. We help to bring the voice of the Lakota Nation in issues of poverty and suicide in the Pine Ridge reservation. Again, I ask you to come and make your voice heard. Please take the time to call or send e-mail to the White House again. We need to keep this topic at the present President Obama and this is a way for us to be heard. Tell President Obama of the terrible conditions of my people here at Pine Ridge. Tell him that the Oglala Sioux tribe has declared a state of emergency for the issue of suicide on December 11, 2009 Remind them of the promises made to First Nations / Native Americans. Promises waiting to be fulfilled. When you call or write to tell of the poverty rates, unemployment rates of 80% and the despair that is bringing so many of our people and of our young people to commit suicide. We ask for our Lakota Nation in this matter. 1 When you call or write, please be respectful. 2 Specify why call and write, that is, suicide and poverty in the Pine Ridge reservation, etc ... 3 Specify that these issues need to be addressed. 4 Remember to respect the President has made promises to the First Nations and Native Americans during his campaign.
