The design is part of the new Downtown Area Redevelopment Plan currently under development. Pro-Con Road Works Ltd. is the contractor carrying out the work. During the construction vehicle access will be as follows: • Lane access between 3 and 4 Avenues from Macleod Trail for deliveries and residents only. • Lane access between 4 and 5 Avenues from Macleod Trail and 5 Avenue for local traffic only. During the first two to three weeks of construction pedestrian sidewalk access will be maintained on 4 avenue SW but will only be accessible from 1 Street SW or from the respective lane ways . Sidewalk work is anticipated to begin as early as the third week of construction and accommodations for pedestrian access is being planned and will be announced prior to closure of the existing sidewalks. Signage will be posted to guide pedestrians and vehicles to detour routes. Pedestrians and drivers are reminded to watch for trucks and workers and to obey all safety signs and closures throughout town. Please be aware that barricades will be in place for public safety and will be left in place for lane closures even though construction crews may not be present.
