For my friends who do not know my mother Hazel Zimmerman, I share - TopicsExpress

For my friends who do not know my mother Hazel Zimmerman, I share her status which I copied and pasted to defeat her privacy settings. I hope when I am in my eighties, I am still if hating to change the things I think are wrong. She fights to save our planet not for herself, but for generations yet to come. Today is a rest day, following yesterdays eighteen miles. I am delighted to find that the muscle soreness I had last night is completely gone this morning. I am excited to walk again tomorrow, leaving Des Moines headed for Iowa City. I am fortunate to be able to carry a sign made by Glori Dei Filllipone with the message There is No Planet B and a picture of the Earth with a yellow sign on it saying Children Crossing. This sign states the mission of The Great March for Climate Action succinctly and the beauty of the planet we are lucky enough to inhabit. Tonight we will be at the Unitarian Church to hear a presentation buy one of the marchers who has experienced the melting ice in the Artctic. Then, it will be one more night in my own bed and getting up early to put my feet on the ground with the other Marchers on the 1,000 miles remaining journey to Washington D.C. Special thanks to Glori Dei and to her Mother, Maria Fillipone for trusting me to carry their message onward. I feel stronger and happier that I have for many months.
