For my land-/cityscape people Encyclopedia Starry Heart Geography Entry City: Riften 4th Era, Year 229 (4E 229) Some basic direction is all, really. From here: let the imagination flow. Basically, take Riften from Skyrim, and smash it together with Mos Eisley spaceport from Star Wars: Steamskiff ports, conventional docks for trading barges and other vessels, big silt strider caravan verandas, the hustle and bustle of dockworkers loading and unloading goods, a nearly visible noise from the packed marketplace, shady cantinas that the Thieves Guild has its fingers in. This is a place that gets things done—it’s a huge trading hub; but you can DEFINITELY see some shady business going down here behind the scenes. Literally: you can see it. They don’t even bother hiding it. Low skyline, waterways, lots of people (honestly, you can show them as a fairly indistinct blur of colors and circles en masse), market stalls, steamskiffs (think like a sleek boat that hovers), silt strider caravans “docked” at the walls. Give it some character. Will provide pictures of Mos Eisly, Riften, and the kinds of people/animals that I see inhabiting the Riften of Sal’s world.
