For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. Isaiah 55:8 We are all concerned about the horrors of the civil war in Syria and how it will draw in other nations, ours especially, as it escalates. It is such a confusing mess - the Middle East. I was reminded of this verse from Isaiah when I woke up this morning and read these words from Pope Francis. "I have decided to proclaim for the whole Church... (on Saturday, Sept 7th) a day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria, the Middle East , and throughout the world, and I also invite each person, including our fellow Christians, followers of other religions and all men of good will, to participate, in whatever way they can, in this initiative.
